W. Portal Bridge Construction Update

The Town has contracted with Structures, Inc to perform construction services for replacing the decking and associated infrastructure of the West Portal Bridge over North Inlet River. Work is anticipated to begin Friday, August 6th, 2018 with a temporary reopening of the bridge in late November until work can recommence after the winter season.

As a result, West Portal Rd will be closed to traffic between GCR 663 (leading to Shadowcliff and Town Water Tank Facility) and North Inlet Rd during this time. Detour signs will be placed at appropriate locations along West Portal Rd, Garfield St, Grand Ave, and North Inlet Rd to redirect traffic through Town. Flaggers may be present as necessary during construction to assist in traffic flow.

If you are a property owner residing along West Portal Rd between GCR 663 and North Inlet Rd, you will be given full access to your property throughout construction. Please be cautious while driving around barricades and cones.

If you are a property owner residing along North Inlet Rd, you will experience heightened traffic volumes on this road throughout construction. Please be cautious while exiting your driveways and obey all traffic signals and devices.

East Inlet Recreation Area will remain open during this time. Please follow appropriate traffic signage to reach this location. We apologize for any inconveniences this construction may cause.

For any questions regarding traffic control or general questions about the construction project, please contact the Town via email at town@townofgrandlake.com, or call 970-627-3435.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
