Waste Disposal


 

Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT):

The PAYT trash service program is designed to provide trash services for a variety of users (renters, second homeowners, and visitors) in the Grand Lake area who may not subscribe to trash pick-up services.  The drop-off facility (see site location map, below) is designated for pre-sold bags only.  A 25-gallon trash bag is available for $3 each (tax included) and a 40-gallon trash bag are available for $5 each (tax included) at Grand Lake Town Hall and the Visitors' Center as well as at these local merchants: Circle 3 Grocery, Conoco, Grand Lake Hardware, Grand Lake Center and Mountain Food Market.


Unacceptable Materials:


• No TV’s, CPU’s, Monitors, printers/faxes, laptop/tablets, DVD/VCRs, Radios, or Video game consoles
• No Hazardous Waste or Toxic Waste
• No Liquid Waste
• No Refrigerators or Freezers
• No Household chemicals
• No Car batteries
• No Petroleum Products
• No Contaminated Soil

Waste Connections operates the Transfer Station located in Grand County.  For more information about the transfer station services, including rates and hours of operation, please contact them at the number listed above.
