Special Use Permit Application
This application is for the temporary use (six months or less) of private property and when two or more businesses are present with at least one business that is proposed to be located in a non-fixed structure.  More information regarding Special Use Permits can be found in Municipal Code Chapter 12: Article 2: Section 31.

Grading/Excavation Permit Application
A grading permit is required for the following activities:
     1.  Vertical ground disturbance of more than 2 feet.
     2.  Excavation or fill material exceeding twenty (20) cubic yards.

Town Building Department

The Town of Grand Lake contracts building services (permit review, issuance and project approval) with the Grand County Building Department. All applications for permits must be submitted online at https://us.cloudpermit.com

Town Planning and Zoning Inspections typically include:

  • Pre-Site Inspection
  • Setback Inspection
  • Final Inspection 

For Town inspections, please contact Town Hall at (970) 627-3435 and allow up to 24 hours for inspection. 

Building Code Inspections (concrete, framing, drywall, roofing, etc.) are administered by the Grand County Community Development Department, and shall be requested online through the Cloud Permit system.
