The Town of Grand Lake is honored to be one of 30 designated Creative Districts in the State of Colorado. The Colorado Creative Districts program recognizes communities that contribute to the state’s economy through creativity, culture and the arts. The program’s goal is to help communities increase jobs, incomes and investments in creative places.
Colorado Creative Districts attract artists and creative entrepreneurs to a community, infusing new energy and innovation, which in turn enhances the economic and civic capital of the community. Districts also serve as a focal point for celebrating and strengthening a community’s unique identity, become a space to showcase cultural and artistic organizations and events, and contribute to the development of healthy communities. With this unique designation, Grand Lake qualifies for other special projects, such as the Space to Create live-work development.
The Grand Lake Creative District is comprised of several local organizations committed to advancing and supporting our rich arts community through a variety of programs. These include:
- Grand Arts Council
- Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge
- Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre
- Grand County Library District (Juniper Library in Grand Lake)
