The Town of Grand Lake offers “bleeder” valves to qualifying properties to prevent service lines from freezing. Water units connected to mains that were originally installed at depths which do not meet current Town specifications, or that dead-end, may be authorized to use bleeders during certain periods of the year in order to prevent the service line from freezing. Units using bleeders may be granted a credit against the water bill for the amount of water allowed to be bled.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A BLEEDER VALVE...
Remember to have them inspected by a plumber to make sure they are ready to go for the winter! Bleeders may be turned on December 1st. Questions about your water account can be directed to Town Treasurer. Questions about your water line can be directed to Water Director, Dave Johnson, at djohson [at] toglco.com (djohson[at]toglco[dot]com) or (970) 531-3309.
