May 25 – Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony – Veterans are the heart of our community, and we gather each year to honor their sacrifices for our freedoms with a patriotic parade down Grand Avenue, plus a formal firing ceremony in Town Park. Don’t forget to take a stroll through Veterans Memorial Park, where you’ll find a dedicated monument beneath the flag pole, and a memorial brick walkway to remember those who served.
June 27 – CASI Chili Cookoff – This official Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) competition is a spicy showdown you don’t want to miss! Come to Town Park for a taste of many varieties of chili, live music, and vendors selling homemade goods, all benefitting the Grand Lake Fire Department’s community assistance fund.

Round out the day with a hearty, hot meal and crisp, cold beverage from one of the downtown eateries nearby.
November 27 – Tree Lighting Ceremony & Holiday Craft Bazaar – Grand Lake comes alive Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate the start of the holiday season. Held the Friday after Thanksgiving, the annual tree lighting ceremony features a festive evening of carolers, hot cocoa and cozy fire pits. Each year, a lucky kiddo is selected to do the honors of plugging in the twinkling lights draped around two historic twin pine trees, which make the surrounding blankets of snow positively glow with good cheer. Across the park, the Grand Arts Council hosts a craft bazaar in the historic Community House featuring Colorado-based artisans, where you can get a head start on your holiday shopping list while also buying local and supporting small business. A visit from Santa and his reindeer promises a magical, memorable holiday evening.
December 31 – New Year’s Eve Fireworks – Bundle up and enjoy a live fireworks show on the frozen shores of Grand Lake to end the year with a burst of brightness and excitement. Catch a performance at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater, enjoy a fancy feast and sip champagne by the fire at the Rapids Restaurant, then head to the lakefront to ice skate under a night sky full of twinkling stars and popping pyrotechnics. Save some energy for an epic “First Day Hike” to Adam’s Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park to start the new year off with a dose of fresh air and forest bathing.
